I think the off center one is a lot better. I just like the way it presents itself, the plant helps it out. There is just so much more to the photo with it off to the side, it still is the main object but changes the look in a certain way.

Why do symetrical and centered compostions strike us as static and less interesting than the off-centered shots - particularly those following the rule of thirds? Perhaps we image hunters like to find what is interesting in a composition rather than having it handed to us.
